Thousands Expected at Shrewsbury Caravan Show
Thousands of visitors from all over the UK are expected to attend the biggest caravan and motorhome show ever seen in Shropshire which opens in Shrewsbury on Friday.
More than 2,000 people have downloaded free tickets for the West Midlands Caravan and Motorhome Show online at www.caravanevent.co.uk. In addition more than 40,0000 caravan owners have received a mailshot about the event, which is being hosted by Salop Leisure in Shrewsbury from April 30 to May 9. The show will be open daily 10am - 5pm.
"The public response to the show in terms of the number of people downloading tickets has far exceeded our expectations and it promises to be the most successful event the company has ever staged," said Salop Leisure's marketing manager Scott Higgins.
Designed as a family day out, the show is packed with things to see and do, with 150 of the latest caravan holiday homes, luxury lodges, touring caravans and motorhomes on display from the country's leading manufacturers.
Anyone who buys a holiday home, touring caravan or motorhome during the first week of the show will qualify for a free six-minute flight in a helicopter over Shrewsbury courtesy of Whizzard Helicopters from Welshpool on Saturday, May 8. Flights can also be booked by people attending the show at £29 per person.
Over the weekend from May 1-3, visitors will be invited to enter a closest to the pin competition on a golf simulator, with the victor winning a Nintendo Wii and magician Steve Grant will provide entertainment with his up close magic, card tricks and free balloon animals for children on May 9,
The show invites visitors to 'Go Explore!', with a team of experts on hand to offer essential advice and comprehensive information about caravan, lodge and motorhome ownership, finance packages and insurance.
In addition, the event will showcase more than 200 quality caravan holiday home and touring parks across the Heart of England, Mid Wales and the Cambrian Coast.
Exhibitors include The Caravan Club, The National Trust, Leisure Line Spas, Shrewsbury Mariner, Quest Leisure, Cycle Shrewsbury, Dave Mellor Cycles, Shukers Land Rover, Powrtouch Motormovers, Derwen Garden Centre, K Drew Insurance and Marche Industries.
