Take a ‘Slow’ Family Foodie Walk
Have you ever wanted to eat your way round Ludlow taking in the best of local seasonal produce? Now in its third successful year, the Slow Food Ludlow Mini Magnalonga will take place on Sunday 12th June (11.30-12pm start). The event is for all those that want to discover a bit more about Ludlow’s fantastic food and drink offer by doing a walk with food stops with a family quiz on route. This family friendly event is for the young and old, taking in some of Ludlow’s most beautiful views and exciting food venues. At each stop you will be served a course, the route has five stops in total and is no more than three miles.
The food and drink will include a pastry from the new Swifts Bakery on Corve Street, a tasty vegetable course from The Rockspring Community Garden courtesy of the Grow Cook Share project as well as a sustainable fish course from Jane Lloyd at the Courtyard Restaurant (vegetarian option available) as well as other stops including the new Ludlow Brewery for a courteous half of beer at the end.
The Magnalonga concept has been borrowed from Italy, and the Mini version is an alternative to the main Ludlow event that takes place in August which is a much longer walk.
Tickets cost £7.50 for an adult £3.50 for a child. Family tickets are also available at £18 (2 adults+ 2 children). Booking in advance is essential, Vegetarian option available. Tickets are available from Ludlow Tourist Information Centre, credit card payments can be accepted in person or reservations and cheques over the phone 01584 875053.
The mini magnalonga is organised by the local Ludlow Marches Slow Food Group, a group of volunteers who organise events throughout the year to help promote local food and drink, all proceeds go towards promoting further local food and drink from the Marches.
