QHotels prepares to celebrate two years in Telford

The award winning Leeds based hotel group QHotels is preparing to celebrate two years in Telford, following the £10 million refurbishment of the former Telford Golf & Country Club, which completed in February 2008.

The four star deluxe property, now known as the Telford Hotel & Golf Resort has gone on to achieve continued year on year growth in sales.

“We’re really pleased to have seen the business grow yet again in 2009”, says Paul Hutton, Director of Sales, “not least since the completion of the refurbishment coincided with the start of the downturn that went on to become a very challenging period for the hotel industry.”

But against the odds, the hotel has seen a number of high profile events re-book for 2010 and beyond, and it has also nurtured a reputation as the hotel of choice for visiting celebrities and sports personalities.

The management believes that their success lies in their innovative approach to packages and the overall guest product.  The Darby House Slumber Party – as featured in the national press – offers private parties the chance to take over 17th century Darby House, whilst meeting organisers can impress clients and colleagues with the Executive Meetings Package that includes leather executive chairs, projection via a 50 inch plasma screen and wine with lunch.  For more relaxed meetings where delegates need to be motivated, clients can enjoy a Nintento Wii break during lunch or before the meeting.

Looking forward to another strong performance in 2010, the hotel is planning a glitzy party in the spring to celebrate their second birthday.  “It promises to be an exciting event, and an exciting year!” says Paul.
