Pop Concerts are music to the ears of busy Caravan Park

Two successful pop concerts in Shrewsbury earlier this month were music to the ears of a five-star caravan park on the edge of the town, which enjoyed a bumper weekend.

Oxon Hall Touring Park, which is open all year round, reported a big influx of caravanners who had bought tickets for the Jools Holland and Back to the 80s concerts in The Quarry.
Already enjoying a 20 per cent increase in caravanners so far this year, the park was full for the weekend and is preparing or another very busy August.
"We were absolutely packed for the whole weekend," said Edward Goddard, managing director of Shrewsbury-based Morris Leisure, which owns Oxon Hall Touring Park. "The big advantage the park has is that it just a short walk from the town's Park and Ride bus service, which saves caravan and motorhome owners from driving.
"There is no doubt that the park is growing in popularity and we are expecting further sell outs for Shrewsbury Flower Show and Shrewsbury Steam Engine Rally at Onslow Park next month."
The park has also reported an influx of caravanners for events to celebrate this year's 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury's most famous son.
Due to the weakness of Sterling against the Euro and other currencies, Mr Goddard said the park was seeing more European caravanners and motorhome owners, particularly from Germany, Holland and France.
Oxon Hall Touring Park can accommodate 100 touring caravans, 60 caravan holiday homes and has special pitches for recreational vehicles (RVs). Contact Tel: 01743 340868 or visit www.morris-leisure.co.uk for more information.
