Ludlow Food Centre have teamed up with Macmillan Cancer Support for 'The World's Biggest Coffee Morning'
Throughout the nation people will sit down to a cup of coffee on September 24th but instead of paying the normal amount they will be asked to make a charitable donation.
The Centre roasts and grinds relationship coffee beans that are sourced through Mercanta who pay the growers directly. Anybody who comes to the Conservatory Barn Cafe, adjacent to the Food Centre, on the 24th between 9:30 and 11:30 will be entitled to a freshly made coffee and will be encouraged to give whatever they can to help the fundraising effort.
Tom Hunt, Marketing Manager says,
“It’s great to be working with Macmillan and to be involved in such an important event. We are hoping that people will come to the Conservatory Barn Cafe and support the Coffee Morning by donating generously. Last year’s event was a real success and we are hoping to raise even more this year”
Clare Nester, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Shropshire said, “We are sure that everyone will want to stop for a coffee break at The Ludlow Food Centre, thanks to their fantastic selection of delicious cakes and baked goods. We are so thrilled that they have decided to support the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and raise money for Macmillan.
Around 1,560 people are diagnosed with cancer in Shropshire every year. We need hundreds of thousands of pounds in Shropshire to ensure we can continue to offer our services and support, and The Ludlow Food Centre is helping us achieve this. ”
