Park (Walk) and Ride comes to the Discovery Centre
Visitors to The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms, are being encouraged to venture a little further afield, thanks to the production of two easy-to-follow walks which link to the innovative Shropshire Hills Shuttle Bus service.
The Shuttle Bus Service is once again in full swing for the summer months, and offers both adults and families the chance to leave the car behind and to travel into the stunning Shropshire Hills on board one of the regular services.
Scheduled to run right the way through to September 26th, the new “Secret Hills Shuttle Route” service from the Centre takes a scenic circular route along the Clun Valley, and on to Bishop’s Castle – home of one of the biggest annual walking festivals in Shropshire.
And now, in yet another step towards reducing still further the carbon footprint over this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Centre has commissioned two separate walks – designed to be enjoyed in conjunction with a journey on board the Shuttle Bus service.
Both are very clearly marked, are easy enough for families to enjoy and link cleverly to the Shuttle Bus timetable.
The walks – from Purslow to Lydbury North, and from Purslow to Aston on Clun – have also been selected for the historic and ecological anecdotes, which are also contained in the information available from the Centre.
The Secret Hills Shuttle, which runs every Saturday, and Bank Holiday Sundays and Mondays, is one of two eco-friendly Shuttle Bus services. The other links Church Stretton with the Long Mynd & Stiperstones - covering another dramatic stretch of the Shropshire Hills countryside.
