Park (Walk) and Ride comes to the Discovery Centre
Visitors to The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms, are being encouraged to venture a little further afield, thanks to the production of two easy-to-follow walks which link to the innovative Shropshire Hills Shuttle Bus service.

Shropshire Olympian Festival to be held in The Quarry in 2011
2011 is the year of the Cultural Olympiad, a year ahead of the Olympic Games in London. Shropshire Council has won an Inspire Mark for its innovative project, celebrating the Shropshire Olympian Festival of 1864, which William Penny Brookes brought to the Quarry, Shrewsbury. The 2011 Festival will be held in the Quarry on JUNE 17, 18 and 19.

Ellesmere Flower & Produce Show
Floral displays are on display in Ellesmere and the annual Ellesmere Flower & Produce show will be held on Saturday 28th August at 2pm in the Market Hall. Admission is 50p for adults and 10p for children.

North Shropshire village in running to win Britain in Bloom
The village of Norton in Hales near Market Drayton has reached the finals of the national Britain in Bloom competition this year after winning a gold award in the 2009 Heart of England in Bloom. It was chosen to represent the Midlands and judging of the village will take place on Tuesday 10th August starting at 9.00 am.
