Hairy Bikers in Shropshire
The Hairy Bikers visit to Shropshire is being screened on BBC2 this Friday 28th August at 5:15pm as part of The Hairy Bikers Food Tour of Britain series.
The Celebrity chefs visited Shropshire in November last year when Dave Myers and Si King aka The Hairy Bikers visited the Stiperstones to go pheasant shooting and spent time cooking under the cover of Shrewsbury's Old Market Hall in the Square, taking on the challenge of making Shropshire's traditional dish the fidget pie. They also challenged local chef Will Holland from La Becasse in Ludlow to a cook off!
Commenting at the time of their visit, Dave said "It's been lovely being here, we've been staying in Ludlow and it's a bit of a foody's mecca with three Michelin starred restaurants and the food festival."
Si was also full of praise, saying: "We do the miles on our bikes and it's really a beautiful county. You don't realise how beautiful it is until you get here."
The series follows the Hairy Bikers as they visit a different county across Britain in every episode. Simon King and Dave Myers get on their bikes to find the best of each county's larder and meet the local producers who are keeping traditional recipes alive.
