Fun in the Snow at Discovery Centre!
With over 23 centimetres of snow measured to have fallen in the Onny Meadows over the weekend, the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms was the perfect place to have some fun!
Locals headed down to the Centre to wander along the river, walk the dogs and have fun with the family, making the most of the Wintery weather. Others dropped in to visit the award winning Café for Sunday lunches as well as hot chocolates, cakes and warm mulled wine.
Run by local charity, Grow Cook Learn, the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre remained open as usual and greeted visitors that were willing to brave the elements. With the local primary school being closed, the staff offered free entry to the Shropshire Hills Through Time exhibition for all it’s families on Monday.
Entry to the Discovery Centre and Onny Meadows is free but there is a charge for visitors to enjoy our Shropshire Hills Through Time exhibition and visit our mammoth. The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre offers an extensive programme of family events, adult courses and a variety of activities for the whole family. The unique grass roofed building houses a replica of the famous mammoth skeleton found in Shropshire. The café serves delicious home-cooked food. Browse our extensive shop selling a range of quirky gifts. Every half term and school holiday we provide hands-on family activities.
