Family Fun Day This Saturday at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

The annual Family Fun Day at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre this Saturday, 16th June from 12pm to 4pm. Celebrating British Summertime, with something for all the family from face painting to a licensed bar and a delicious barbecue, this is the perfect day out.

Paying homage to the traditional Craven Arms carnival is the Centre’s Wheelbarrow Parade! The theme for the barrows is a scene made from recycled plastic so get creative, dive in to your black boxes and see if you have what it takes to win the special Discovery Centre hamper prize. All barrows must be entered by 1pm in time for judging.

Entry to the event is free with attractions priced individually including a bouncy castle, rodeo sheep, face painting, meadow trails and much more. Alongside the bouncy castle will be an infant’s soft play area and the Gladiator Duel Ring where visitors can challenge family and friends to become the ultimate gladiator!

Now a hotspot for dragonflies and butterflies, Butterfly Conservation and the British Dragonfly society will be on hand all day and local Willow Weavers will also be running activities to weave the willow from the Onny Meadows in to butterflies and dragonflies.

The Centre’s award winning café team will be putting on a BBQ & Bar for the event, including their usual menu inside as well as an ice cream cart. There will be fresh strawberries and cream, strawberry cream teas and Pimms available too.

For a day of fun for all the family, join the Family Fun Day at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre on Saturday 16th June from 12pm – 4pm.
