Dearnford Lake Car Boot and Collectors Fair supports Midlands Air Ambulance
Dearnford Lake Car Boot and Collectors Fair on Sunday 20th June will support the vital Midlands Air Ambulance service.
The Air Ambulance services Shropshire, other Midlands counties and the Welsh border region. It operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and receives no Government or National Lottery funding, needing to raise £6 million each year to support its work.
The Charity operates three Air Ambulances covering a geographic area of 6,000 square miles. Approximately 3,500 missions are carried out each year and in excess of 30,000 life saving missions have been completed since it commenced in 1991.
Jane Bebbington, owner of Dearnford Lake, said: "When accidents happen, time is of the essence in getting injured people to hospital, and there is no doubt the Air Ambulance has saved many lives. It is also vital when accidents occur in country areas where access is only via country lanes. We feel it is a very worthwhile cause." A donation from the Fair will go to the Air Ambulance.
She added: "The car boot and collectors fair is a great way to recycle unwanted items to help in these cash strapped times. Everybody loves a bargain - and there is a wide array of goods on offer including collectors' items, sports gear, china and glassware, books, jewellery, furniture, children's toys, and kitchen and garden tools."
The event opens to stallholders to set up between 7.30am and 8.30am and gates open to the public at 8.30am. It is strictly for car booters only.
Cost to stallholders is £8 per car, £10 for estate cars, 4x4s, and small vans/trailers and £12 for large trailers/vans. Entry is £1 for adults, children free and parking is free. Thistle Caterers will provide refreshments including hot sausage and bacon baps.
Dearnford Lake is situated just south of Whitchurch off the A41/A49/A525 bypass. See www.dearnford.com for map/directions.
